We live in a fast paced world.  I’m pretty sure that even as a student, you are busier than I am. You have school, homework, sports, band, family, friends, church, etc. and it is really easy to get caught up in the daily grind and lose sight of our true purpose in our life – worshipping our Creator. For each of us, this looks different on a daily basis.

So how do we keep God first and as our primary focus in our daily lives?  The answer is surrender.  Surrender to Christ.  It is saying to Jesus this: Everything that is going on in my life, the worries, the hurts, the happiness, the joys, the whatever…..I give it all to you.

To do this means that we have faith that God has our best interests in mind.  It takes the focus off of us and puts it back on Christ.  Living a life where we have not surrendered to God will only lead to disappointments and hurt.

Romans 12:1

And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask?

Mark 8:34

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Romans 6:13

Do not let any part of your body become a tool of wickedness, to be used for sinning. Instead, give yourselves completely to God since you have been given new life. And use your whole body as a tool to do what is right for the glory of God.

  • That God becomes the focal point of your life
  • That you make it a priority to seek God everyday.  Not out of obligation but because you recognize: “How can I not?”
  • That you will trust Him with everything you have going on in your life
